Sultan Trailer Review –

According to Reddif,

Ali Abbas Zafar’s Sultan, on the evidence offered up by its theatrical trailer, will be a monster hit, a gigantic success that will take the Salman Khan phenomenon to a whole other level.

Having said that, in case you actually want to watch this film, I suggest you steer far clear of this trailer, which basically runs you through a solid 90% of this film: it shows you the entire sports movie plot, introduces you to guy and girl, gives you the top lines, and gives away the fact that — for at least some part of this wrestling underdog story — Salman Khan plays a 40-year-old has been. With a gut.

Sultan might involve the most ‘acting’ Khan has had to do for a film in the recent past, but — given his grimaces and his graceless, wooden attempt at a heartland accent — the jury’s out on whether that’s a good thing. Anushka Sharma looks good opposite him, though, fresh and spunky and well cast.

It looks to have all the elements: the sports sequences, the action, the wrestler-on-wrestler flirting, the melodramatic mounting of impossible odds… And this is all very well, but what it doesn’t give us is anything fresh or surprising. Right now, this appears to be a template sports film. Which, for Salman diehards, is far more than enough.

Much like Salman’s character, however, I wish this trailer had made even one interesting move instead of merely the obvious grapples.

Sultan Movie Songs Review –

Source –  Koimoi,

Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma starrer Sultan is all set to release this Eid. The film’s music has been composed by Vishal-Shekhar. Sultan’s album consists of nine songs and we are expecting it to pack a punch.

Here’s a look at the album of Sultan :

Baby Ko Bass Pasand Hai –

The first song to be released from the much-awaited album of Sultan was Baby Ko Bass Pasand Hai. The quirky lyrics and upbeat music, make this wedding ‘sangeet’ kind of number quite a hit track. The vocals have been given by Vishal Dadlani and Shalmali Kholgade where as the rap portions have been contributed by Baadshah. This song is bound to enjoy popularity thanks to its commercial beats. It is a fairly enjoyable track.

Jag Ghoomeya –

The album’s controversial song Jag Ghoomeya which was earlier supposed to be crooned by Arijit Singh is presented with Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s vocals in the album. Jag Ghoomeya is a romantic track that is instantly likable thanks to its sugary lyrics. Arijit or not, the song is still a sure-shot hit!

440 Volt –

Mika Singh brings in the fun with his energetic number 440 Volt. As soon as you listen to this song, it gives you a complete Salman Khan feel. It is reminiscent of his other tracks like ‘Dagabaaz Re’ from Dabangg 2 and so on. The song may not enjoy a lot of longevity and is an average number compared to the other tracks.

Sultan –

The theme of Sultan is catchy enough but as an audio number, it is not impressive. The song has a lot of energy and seems to be kind of an obvious choice when it comes to showcasing the journey of Sultan’s training. Other than the film, it is not a great choice as a audio track.

Sachi Muchi –

Sachi Muchi is peppy number sung by Mohit Chauhan and Harshdeep Kaur. The song is more like a conversation. The musical arrangements are extremely upbeat but somehow, the songs seems a little out of place compared to the other tracks from the album.

Bulleya –

Bulleya is a rich composition with Papon’s vocals. The sufi track is soulful enough and seems to be a good fit as a situational song in the album. Not a song you may enjoy for a long time but Papon’s voice is always a delight to hear and hence may even stick to your list of the singer’s best tracks.

Tuk Tuk –

Tuk Tuk is another vibrant number from the album. Nooran sisters come together with Vishal-Shekhar for this one and it is high on the Haryanvi flavor. The song seems much like an inspirational number for the sports star in the film.

Rise Of Sultan –

This is a slightly different version of the earlier mentioned Sultan number. This time Shekhar takes to the mic. This is easily a passable number from the album. Other than its placement in the film, as an audio track, you may not want to listen to it.

The Last Word –

Sultan‘s music album is quite commercial and will be a hit with Salman Khan’s fans for sure. Tracks such as Baby Ko Base Pasand Hai, 440 Volt, Jag Ghoomeya are expected to become favorites soon. Bulleya and Sachi Muchi are also quite decent numbers. I am going with a 3/5 for the album.
